Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third-party provider operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; this site does not keep or log the submitted search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
A message sent to us may be retained so we can respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may collect technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. Together with analytics services, they help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and navigation patterns. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how portions of the site function.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Warrant Data on File
Scott County Warrant Records does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant information. It explains how to reach the Scott County Sheriff warrant pages, Iowa Courts Online, and the Iowa District Court Clerk. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes appearing on some pages. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to information entered there. Review the relevant provider’s policy before submitting a query because this site does not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Scott County Sheriff, Iowa Judicial Branch resources, legal-aid organizations, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination’s privacy policy governs. Review it before providing personal information.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may nevertheless be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data, but no internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor may be requested for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws may provide additional rights. Iowa Code chapter 22 governs access to public records held by Iowa government bodies, including lawful confidentiality and redaction; it does not turn this private website into a government record custodian. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. An updated version becomes available on this page with a new effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
